When you take your driving test matters according to Car Insurer!
Recently Admiral car insurance conducted some research into when driving tests are taken by motorists and the likelihood of them either making a claim or incurring a motor conviction such as speeding offence.
The findings were a revelation! Contrary to belief, the older you pass your driving test according to the data, the higher the risk of making a claim as the result of an accident. The opposite seemed to be true of young drivers passing their tests, for example, they were less likely to make a claim but were more prone to being convicted of motoring offences.
In terms of young motorists passing their test, more men than women were more likely to pass their driving test first time. In addition, more young women would take several attempts to pass their test compared to young men. Other findings included looking at the most likely age to pass your driving test which was found to be 18, although interestingly only 39% of drivers passed their test before reaching the age of 21.
What this proves is that there are many factors Car Insurance Companies take into consideration when assessing the level of risk for drivers of all ages and abilities. This latest research confirms the link to the age you pass your driving test and whether you are more likely to incur either a driving conviction or make a claim in those first few years of driving.
