Insurance Price Comparison Sites Investigated
According to recent research conducted by Which Money, the consumer
finance magazine, consumers may not always be getting the best deal if
they rely on just one of the major price comparison sites for a car
insurance quote or any other type of insurance quote.
The research showed that in many cases on each price comparison website,
the cheapest quote offered was different. In other cases, it was found
to try and get a true comparison between each price comparison site was
difficult because of different information required and product
features, some of which were either included or excluded, for example
insurance no claims bonus protection.
It was also established that in some cases, users were asked to check
directly with insurer’s websites to confirm insurance cover details such
as motor claims excesses were correct.
According to Martin Hocking Editor of Which Magazine, the advice for
consumers is to simply shop around by checking at least two or three
price comparison sites in addition to car insurer’s websites.
