Car Insurance - Mini

As a leading brand and car manufacturer, BMW Mini offers car insurance, Guaranteed Asset Protection policies, payment protection plans, travel cover, hire purchase and vehicle leasing.

The company approached UK Insurance Ltd (who own Direct Line), which is in turn part of the Royal Bank of Scotland to provide an insurance solution specifically for their vehicles. The result is Mini Car Insurance. The belief is that if a company knows which vehicle it is going to insure it's likely to sell a higher volume of policies.

Mini car insurance can be purchased online or via their call centre and includes the following features; car repairs carried out by trained technicians at Mini approved body shops, using only original parts, if your car is repairable, a courtesy car (subject to conditions) is made available, audio equipment cover up to £1,000, personal possession cover up to £100, personal accident cover up to £5,000, legal cover up to £25,000 for motor related claims provided by MINI Accident Management.

First time drivers may also qualify for an introductory car insurance discount up to 30% (subject to conditions) and ex-company car drivers may qualify for up to 65% no claims discount (subject to conditions).

"Shortfall" is BMW Mini Guaranteed Asset Protection product and covers you for depreciation loss in the event your vehicle is written off or stolen and declared a total loss. This is because some comprehensive car insurance policies make a total loss payment based on the market value of the vehicle at the time of the accident or theft. The company's Shortfall policy is designed to cover the gap between any car insurance settlement and the outstanding finance or the original purchase price, whichever is greater.
