Vauxhall has decided to leverage its brand to offer a range of additional products such as car insurance, leasing and finance, GM credit card, and GAP Insurance to assist with selling their cars and generating as much income as possible from each customer.

The company approached UK Insurance (who own Direct Line), which is in turn part of the Royal Bank of Scotland to provide a solution specifically for their vehicles. The result is Vauxhall Car Insurance.

The belief is that if a company knows which vehicle it is going to insure and is likely to sell a higher volume of car insurance policies it is happy to offer an ‘affinity scheme’ product. As a leading brand and car manufacturer, this companyl leverages its brand successfully to sell as many products as possible to its consumer base.

Their car insurance can be purchased online or via their call centre. Key benefits include competitively priced policy cover and all car accident repairs go through an approved accident repair centre using only genuine Vauxhall parts. A free courtesy car is provided for the duration of the insurance repair when you use an approved repairer, subject to availability.

Valueguard is the company's Guaranteed Asset Protection product and covers you for depreciation loss in the event your car is written off or stolen and declared a total loss. This is because some comprehensive motor insurance policies make a total loss payment based on the market value of the car at the time of the accident or theft. Their Valueguard policy is designed to cover the gap between any car insurance settlement and the outstanding finance or the original purchase price, whichever is greater.
