Information on HBOS for owners seeking car insurance through this group

This group was created on the 10th September 2001 following the merger of Halifax and Bank of Scotland. It is the UK's largest mortgage and savings provider with current assets totalling over £400 billion.

Among the HBOS Group of companies are Lex Service plc, the van and car hire company; GDCH, the vehicle leasing and fleet management company; Halifax, one of the best known UK brands and Esure, the internet based general and car insurance company.

The esure car insurance brand was launched in July 2001 with a policy of insuring only drivers with four years no claim discount or more.
