Insurance Groups For Cars - MMA

MMA is one of the largest insurance groups in Europe with group premium income totalling over £3 billion and gross world-wide assets approaching £17.5 billion in 2003. In May 2001 the group purchased the Swinton Insurance Broker high street chain who are now known as Swinton Colonnade.

This group's portfolio of products include car insurance, home, travel, commercial property, construction and professional indemnity policies. All of these products are sold through a national network of professional insurance brokers and intermediaries. All intermediaries who represent the group operate to industry agreed standards which are regularly monitored. Some are specialists in certain classes of insurance.

The group in the UK does not deal directly with the public, but promotes its services via professional insurance brokers and intermediaries.

MMA provides a wide range of car insurance cover for the private motorist, with specially low prices for women drivers, second cars and accident free motorists. Their private motorist car insurance product includes instalment premium facilities and the Motor Care Line approved repairer scheme. Motor Care Line provides 24 hour accident reporting, free courtesy cars during repairs and a guaranteed standard of workmanship.

The group's commercial motor insurance product offers cover to full or part-time self employed motor traders who buy/sell/repair vehicles either from a business premises or from home. Product features include instalment premium facilities and allow six named car drivers to be nominated with a maximum four for motor trade use. All Applicants must be aged 25-69 and road risks cover does not include cover for the premises or business liabilities.
