They have been providing commercial insurance for many kit car manufacturers for over 10 years with an exclusive scheme, and were asked to develop a scheme to insure their kit car customers once they had made a purchase. The result was their build-up and on-the-road schemes which have since been recommended by owners, owner clubs, manufacturers and magazines.

The basic criteria for the company's kit car build-up and on-the-road insurance schemes are that the kit car can be from a recognised manufacturer. Both currently in business or past manufacturers are acceptable, not one-off specials. Quotes can be obtained for most four wheel and three wheel kits, with just a few exceptions*.

Insurance cover is possible for kit car drivers aged 18 to 74 with up to a maximum of 4 drivers per policy. A minimum 12 months full licence and UK residency is required and maximum agreed insured value up to £50,000 can be arranged (over £35,000 are subject to special criteria and require individual approval).

Fully comprehensive, third party fire and theft or third party only kit car insurance is available with the company's On the Road policy, however, the maximum insured value under the third party fire and theft option is £5,000. Commuting to and from work or limited business use can be included at no extra cost. For appropriate kit cars such as the Beauford, Royale or Vintage Replicas range, wedding hire cover may also be arranged.

Insurance discounts are available for limited mileage, limited number of drivers, membership of a recognised kit car owners club, age of drivers, vehicle age, lower value cars, selected approved security devices etc. Furthermore the careful driver is rewarded with no-claims discount and this can in most cases be protected after the first year claim-free (minimum of 4 years NCD required for protected). No need for a transferable no-claims discount either as they can mirror the record you hold elsewhere, even if on a company kit car.

Garaging is required overnight at the home address for any kit car valued at £15,000 or more. Overnight garaging is an insurance policy requirement, irrespective of value, in certain postcode areas.

A range of payment options is available and free green card for European travel. The policy also boasts uninsured loss recovery / legal expenses cover which is automatically included.
