This company is owned by the Aviva Group. Norwich Union has recently launched a new car insurance for students and young drivers. The product is named Rapid Bonus and is a comprehensive car insurance policy designed to allow students to build up their no claims discount quickly. The Rapid Bonus car insurance policies run for 9 months instead of 12 which means that if you don't claim, you get 1 year's no claim discount in just 9 months (based on a student starting with nil No Claim Discount and assuming no claims are made).

To apply for this student car insurance cover drivers must be aged between 17-29, have no claims, accidents or convictions, have less than 4 years no claim discount and drive a group 15 car or less.

In the event of a claim you would pay the following excesses: glass excess - £80, standard excesses - normally £220 (this depends on your vehicle) plus, if you're 17-20 years old - £350, therefore in total (from) £570. If you're 21-24 years old - £250, therefore, in total (from) £450.

Additional discounts are also offered if you complete "Pass Plus" and buy your students car insurance online.
